Executive Search Firms For Marketing Professionals

Posted by mf on 250 Points
Dear colleagues,

I am an international marketing professional with over 20 years of experience in the field. Very recently I relocated from Spain to Miami, FL and I am in the process of looking for a job. I would like to know whether anyone can refer me to Executive Search Firms specialized on marketing. Also, please let me know if you have expert suggestions on how to look for an Executive Level job.

I have been CMO for ING in Spain, Country Coordinator for Young & Rubicam Brands, Regional Coordinator in Latin America for Philip Morris...

The person you need is Ed Tazzia at Sycamore & Company. (edtazzia@sycamoreandcompany.com)

Ed is a Proctoid (i.e., former P&Ger), has been a CMO at a few companies, and has been in the search business for senior marketing execs for years. If you contact him, feel free to let him know that I've referred you.

If he doesn't have anything that fits with your needs right now, he'll still give you some good direction and follow-up actions. Very honorable, candid, helpful individual.

You might want to get a copy of The Potato Chip Difference. The subtitle is "How to apply leading edge marketing strategies to landing the job you want."

The main idea in the book is that searching for a job that's right for you -- particularly at senior levels -- is not about broadcasting your availability and spamming the world with your resume. It's about doing your homework and identifying the one or two companies where the greatest need is precisely what you do best, then pursuing those opportunities.

The book is available through major bookstores in the United States, Amazon.com, BN.com, or from the publisher using the link above.

If you order from the publisher, you also get a free booklet titled "10 Stupid Things Job Seekers Do That Guarantee They'll Be Looking For Work Again Soon." It's a very simple booklet (short and to-the-point), but the wisdom of the "10 Stupids" has been proven and verified many times over in the marketplace, yet the majority of job seekers keep making those same mistakes.
