Email Marketing In Asia (singapore)

Posted by cathym on 25 Points
Hi

I work for a B2B software company. We recently conducted a direct email campaign in Australia, then have started to roll out the campaign in Singapore. I'm finding major differences - eg in a split test, text based emails were more effective in Singapore vs graphics heavy (totally the opposite in Oz). Also the response rates were lower in Singapore (by 3%).

Has anyone else tested email marketing variables in Singapore/Asia? Any tips? I'm particularly interested in differences in copywriting style and call to action. We mainly use white papers and online demos and track the response. Previously, seminars have worked very well in this region.

Thanks!

If you want expert advice, you need to talk to a Far-Eastern marketing man – such are the nuances. I suggest that you contact Anthony Pettifer who is ex-JWT and owns Brandstorm Asia – he is about the best in the business according to my software clients with Far- Eastern reach.

    His LinkedIn profile is:

Petal, as he was nicknamed was at St Andrews with me and a brilliant executive of the SRC. So was Alex Salmond and Alex is now de-facto prime minister of Scotland!
