I teaches chess privately and to a school. Due to patrol and other costs I can no longer survived on the small fees I charged my students.

OLD Intellectual Rates:
(a) 4 students x RM60 RM240
Commission less 30-0%
Collection RM168 – RM240
6 hours RM28 – RM40 per hour

(b) 6 students x RM60 RM360
Commission less 30-0%
Collection RM252 – RM360
6 hours RM42 – RM60 per hour

(c) Private (1-1) RM250 per Four 90-minutes session
Rate RM41.67 per hour

(d) Schools RM100 per 90 minutes visitation
Rate RM66.67 per hour

Proposed NEW Fees
(a) Non-Prime Time RM32 per hour
(b) Prime Time RM40 per hour
(c) Schools RM60 per hour
(d) Corporations RM90 per hour

How can I explain to my clients that I need to increase my training fees? I have to pay 30% commission for the venue. The old fees was the same for the past 10 years. Though the increased fees is very small between Malaysian I'm afraid I may loose my students, as this is my rice bowl.

Can you help me to explain to the parents that I need to increase fees. Your guidance is much appreciated.
