Name/tagline For A New Business Venture!

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
Hi Friends, I am planning to form a new business & naturally I am very confused about the name/tagline to choose for!
Ok...here we go! I need the names & taglines for following-
1. Group Name: Under a group there will be range of sub-companies (with different names & products).
I am looking for a group name, which will be
- Vibrant
-Different
-Unique
Either something like - Google or something containing words from ancient legends/novels. e.g. Camelot Group etc.

2. Educational Consultancy:
It would be related to guidance for prospective students, about Universities/Courses in UK/US/Australia etc.
I am looking for serious/elegant/ancient name(s) for this. For Example - Tower of Wisdom Consultancy etc.

3. Then there would be Data entry division. In the long run it will also involve the contact center operations. Plz suggest the appropriate name & tagline for it.

4. Retail food/bevarage outlet. It will have ambience similar to Cafe Coffee Day/Starbucks etc. But the rates will be on the lower side. I am looking for a name that will be trendy/catchy/modern/youthful. For Example- Funkies!

I have been a member of this forum for a long time & I am very confident that you will help me with your thoughtful responses.
Thank you very much for your help in advance!

With regards,

Pank

    Pank,

Can you help us by telling us more about your target audience and what they need/want for each of these businesses? Naming isn't so much about telling them what you have as what benefit(s) you provide that make you unique.

Answer the question: What's in it for your target audience to pay attention to your company (instead of all the others who are also in the same business).

Start by telling us where your target audience lives, what they use/do today (before your business shows up), what they wish they had that they don't have now, etc. What are their values, beliefs, attitudes, habits and practices?

Focus on the customer and his/her needs instead of on what YOU want to do. Marketing isn't about catchy phrases or words. It's about satisfying important unmet customer needs. Let's start with the substance, not the "flash."

    Hi mgoodman,

Thank you very much for your response :)
However, I wld like to make it clear that, I am looking for help in d name and not the strategies or customer centric plans(which we hv already devised).
Again, I hv strong experience tht - catchy phrases help in drawing d attention of prospective customer! After tht it is easy to convert him with the plans/strategies which r customer-centric.
Also, in this field - I am the follower of Al-Ries & Jack Trout's "Marketing Warfare" philosophy! So, I am more concerned wid competitor driven market!
I hv always believed in implementing new strategies, rather than following the theory-book strategies. (Because for one case study of success for one theory, there are at least 4 failures).

    REGARDING TARGET CUSTOMERS:
I think target customers are implicit in d description of the companies -
    1. Educational Consultancy: Prospective Students willing to & having sufficient funds to pursue (expensive) higher education abroad. We hv a very gud expertise in d field.
    2. Data entry division: Contracting/Sub-contracting of data entry contracts from individuals/organizations. This wld be expanded into a full fledge contact center in future, as d business grows.
    3. Retail food/beverage outlet: It is definitely for young generation. We are looking for the middle-class and upwards spenders.

For your umbrella name, how about "Future Perfect"?

For educational consultancy: "College World" or "Perfect College Consultants"

For data entry: "Future of Data"

    For food/beverage: "Feed Me Now"

    Hi,
Try this apps for Iphone, https://www.thebrandgenerator.com
Its a real professional tool to generate (intelligent) brand names.
For exemple, you put your key concept in the field.
For exemple, for your food business (Maybe FOOD or DRINK), and after you select which kind of positioning you want to have for your brand . For you, maybe FUN positioning can be OK for you or FASHION, or TRENDY) . Or try others. (there is 22 positioning in pro version)
The apps will generate semantic items added to key concept, wich express the positioning you choosed.
So it's provide you a list of ORIGINAL names, linked with your business et what is the positioning of it.
This apps is the same as used by the Brand Naming Agencies ! It is developed by a 20 years experienced prof in naming.
And if you don't have an Iphone oe an Itouch, ask a friend !
