Know-How Exchange : Taglines/Names

I would think very carefully about naming something. So many products get launched with the wrong name and fail. Research and creativity is key to brand naming.

What type of water filter: at the faucet or whole house? Carbon block or reverse osmosis?
Where are you hoping to sell them? How? To whom?
Why would these people want your filters (instead of your competitors')?

The more we know about your business plans, the more we can help you.

Who is the primary target audience for your product? Where do they live? What problem does this solve for them? Why might someone want this? Have you interviewed people in your target audience? If not, that should be your first step.

Ask them some high-gain questions, then listen to what they say, what words they use, what issues they bring up, etc. Take detailed notes.

Then after you've completed at least a dozen interviews, step back and look at your notes. Analyze what you've heard. You'll have some great insights that will help you (and us) name your product and company.
