I would like to look into if & how companies are adjusting their marketing strategies in order to accommodate the unique consumer needs under turbulent economic times. My aim is to show that increasing marketing efforts or at least keeping them constant during turbulent times can lead to long term success and build brand loyalty with customers.
My problem is that I can not find any academic information, theories or models in this subject area. I have found a lot of valid studies that will help back my argument but limited theoretical material.
Does anyone have any pointers/ guidance in terms of theories that highlight the connection between marketing efforts, consumer behavior, and/or long term success during a recession?
Thank you in advance.
