It's all about who you know, the relationships you build, and knowing what sources are available. I did what I call "grassroots" marketing for a universtiy's community programs, including continuing education, precollege, diversity circles, nonprofit organizations, and k-12 continuing education.
This was done on a low to virtually no marketing budget, forcing me to be resourceful and to get as much free marketing as possible, which included subject of interest stories in local newspapers, TV stations, e-mail notices, radio, direct marketing, and encouraging buy-in from local agencies, organizations, etc. who would have an interest. I have a lot of knowledge in this area, and am the "go-to" person to make the necessary connections for a successful campaign.
I am looking for a dissertation question around the common-sense grassroots marketing approach that I use, which literally has saved universities and a fortune 500 company in the thousands of dollars.
Thank you in advance for your reply.
