Does your existing company do branding? If so, instead of switching to a new employee, try to find a better position within the business that already employs you.

Have you already talked with people that are Brand Managers to see if that job would really be fulfilling for you? If not, find people and talk to them. That will save you a lot of time.

Lastly, if you know you want to be a Brand Manager, decide what field truly excites you and work there. Ideally, find a company that does something that you're interested in, and work for them. Don't go looking for a product to make your career - find something that matters, and let your love of it infect its brand.

    Dear palurister,

The grass is not always greener, so rather than looking for the answer outside where you are now, why not make the most of what you have and see if you can switch to brand management, or to see how you might like brand management BEFORE jumping ship, so to speak.

Nailing your colours to a specific brand might not be the best way to go but before you do anything you MUST talk to brand people to see whether the field is right for you.

    I hope this helps.
