What type of job do you want to get post-dissertation? Make your topic of interest to that type of company. By all means, also make the topic of personal interest to you - you'll be spending a lot of time researching, and you might as well make the process personally rewarding (not just pure research).

Perhaps study how Tesla Motors (https://www.teslamotors.com/) is able to create a new exciting brand in a down economy.

    Dear arungoyal14,

When it comes to deciding what's right for you, what i think is of interest may not be of interest to you.

Here are three ideas based on your suggestions:

    1. Branding: Trust agents in banking and finance- their rise and demise

Customer Relationship Management: What do people really want from companies when it comes to direct mail?

Positioning: What is it and how does it answer the question for marketers: "Are we there yet?" when many of them don't know where they're going?

As for the auto industry, and as well as Jay's advice above, how
about asking what it is about European cars that is so unattractive
    to American consumers?

There's a great deal of mileage (no pun intended) in this subject
and it may not be one that's been covered by anyone else.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

I appreciate Jay's idea and it seems its worth doing research in this area but Gary I am not too much aware of US consumer response regarding European cars. Its basically depend on individual liking and disliking..
Another thing I did some research and narrow downed my topic ....wana know your opinions on this topic "COMPANY BRANDING OR PRODUCT MARKETING"…. I mean which has more magnitude or effective....
I need some examples in this aspect

    Dear arungoyal14,

Fiat. Peugeot. Renault. Citroen. Opel. Alfa Romeo: all rare cars to see here in the US. I've been here for ten years and in that time I've only seen on Peugeot.

    One!

Fuel efficiency, ease of parking, lower insurance premiums? All meaningless. The US auto machine is king. Free trade? Nonsense!

As to your idea of COMPANY BRANDING OR PRODUCT MARKETING? If it works for you, pursue it.

But consider attaching a subtitle that asks a question, a question that you then spend your narrative answering, countering, and then re-answering with fresh information.

This will keep your narrative fresh and inviting. Rule number one here is never bore your reader. Ever.

You might also want to ask yourself what you mean when you tell (or ask) your reader which one has more magnitude or effective.

Magnitude and effective in which contexts and in which areas? Sales? Revenue? Profits? New customers? New markets? New products? Dividends for shareholders?

Magnitude and effective on of for which people or audience? Staff? CEOs and upper management? Board members and trustees? Customers and clients? The government? Contractors?

Might your definitions here of magnitudes, effects, impacts, and stakeholders need to be refined and clarified? So that you can dress them with relevant, significant, persuasive, and meaningful information? Might it be that if you DON'T do this, that your topic and your question then lacks impact?

You want this publication to ROCK THE HOUSE, don't you? You want it to get you noticed because your contextual linking and your investigative thinking is alive, kicking, and busting at the seams with original thought, viewpoint, opinion, and research, don't you?

If you do, you have a few ducks that need to be lined up. But that's just my humble two cents' worth. You MUST speak with your professor on this, discuss it AT LENGTH. He or she knows things about you, your work, and your ability that I am ignorant of.

Take this person's advice (after all, that's what they're paid for), but retain degrees of originality. As for my opinion? I'm just some guy on an online forum.

I have no wager on any horse in this race, but here's the thing:
I want YOU to win. As you select your mount, remember, gambling only pays when you're winning.

And for you, now, it is time to place your bet. Choose wisely.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you.
