Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am intended to enter IMC master program on summer 2010 at Golden Gate University. Is there any clues or perspective for me about the future career opportunity if i am a foreigner and i havent had any experiences about working in marketing field before because my back ground is law degree and i work in a legal division now.
The reason why i choose this program because i think i want to try something new and diff from my previous one besides i think it is a good combination for me to improve my knowledge in business sector.

    Dear Eva,

Everyone in the United States who is not in some way a blood
relative of a Native American is from somewhere else.

Maybe not directly, but in their past, a relative moved to the land
of the free and the home of the brave to live a better life.

I came here from the UK just over 10 years ago. I don't have
a marketing qualification or an advanced degree to my name.
I've never attended a marketing class as such, but that hasn't
stopped me from becoming a top 25 contributor to this forum.

What you focus on is what you'll achieve.

If the program you are entering is right for you and you can bring
value to the lives of other people, go for it and give it all you've got.

Allow no one to stand in your way. Be brilliant. Give it your all.

Become the best you can possibly become. Stand on tippy-toes and reach for the stars. For, when we have such opportunities and we do
not take them, we live lives of regret and "if only".

Your career goals are only as limited as your imagination. As the economy stabilizes (as it will over the next three years or so), and
as you go out into the world with your new skills you'll be ideally
    placed to create value.

So, go for it! And good luck to you.

Talk to Golden Gate University's guidance / career counselors. They can tell you where students have gone, what they've achieved, and give you some solid contacts to further explore your options.
