Consumer Buying Decision Process - Marketing

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I'm currently working on a marketing assignment, and would be really grateful for some help.

I have to explain how an understanding of the consumer buying decision process can help marketers develop more effective marketing strategies.

I have found the consumer buying model but I cannot find anything that helps me to determine how this model helps marketers, can anyone direct me in the right direction as to where I can find such info?

Thanks

Think about the consumer buying model and where companies can make mistakes. t each stage in the model, the consumer has certain needs for information. Only if the company provides the right info at the right time during the phases will a sale occur.

For example, if the consumer is in the problem recognition phase, a marketer giving the information related to the purchase decision phase wouldn't likely get the sale.

If you know why and how someone buys you can unlock how to structure your marketing campaigns.
Try and relate to it by putting yourself in the buyers shoes, think of your last purchase and the thought process you went through before you purchased x then think how it might have been useful for company a, b, c to have provided/made available certain info at certain stages. This will resonate more than simply finding a link to something.
