Tagline For Institutional Food Service Company

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
The background:
We are a small company that provides meal service (breakfast, lunch, dinner, catering) to residential communities for seniors (continuing care retirement communities, long-term care facilities, etc.). We offer everything from full-service management to clinical consulting. Our staff consists of food service directors, chefs, dietitians, food prep workers, and servers. Our meals are the highlight of the residents' day in many cases. We work hard to furnish high-quality meals and attentive service while remaining cost-effective.

The problem:
I am currently working on a modular trade show booth. There are three banner stands that can be used together or separately. One end banner stand focuses on food ("Upscale dining with a home-style twist", a variety of luscious food photos, company logo) and the other end banner stand focuses on service ("Professionalism with the personal touch", photos showing our associates engaged with residents, company logo).

The middle banner stand is the problem. It can be used as a full-length floor banner stand or a tabletop banner stand. The original header was "Meals That Matter," but someone didn't like it so it was changed to "Meals That Make a Difference." We list bullet points that describe what we offer: full-service management and clinical consulting; customized programs for your community; (city name)-based corporate and clinical support; integrity, quality, teamwork. I need a tagline that incorporates the food and service aspects. It would be displayed right under the header when the banner stand is used as a tabletop.

Be careful not to overload the tagline with too many ideas or it will stop being a good tagline and read more like a paragraph of prose.

As a general rule, you should shoot for no more than 3-5 words. Any more than that and people will not take the time to read the whole thing. If you try to communicate four ideas, it's pretty hard to tie them together into a cogent tagline. Even three ideas can be a challenge.

My suggestion: Pick one simple concept and focus on that. Once you get people to stop and interact you can always add more information.

So far the best suggestion (IMHO) is "Nourishing Meals, Made with Care" (from tracyp). It's on the long side and has two different ideas, but it gives you a starting point for discussion with people who stop by to find out exactly what you have to offer.
