Anyone Recommend A Super Landing Page Designer????

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
Hi all. Can anyone recommend a fairly priced, creative designer with landing page experience?

This page will be for my legal consulting business. I already have a blueprint for what I'd like (copywriting, design, etc.), just need someone to tie it all together & implement an opt-in box. I would prefer someone with some marketing/copywriting experience too, but, this is a plus, NOT a requirement.

Finally, I posted recently on Guru, Elance & Odesk. However, I'd rather NOT hire someone in another country due to the language differences, quality of work (very "templatey") & the possible lack of marketing know-how when it comes to landing pages. Have any of you guys used these sites before? Are these people charging like $10 bucks an hour too good to be true?? Most of the responses I'm getting are from overseas, mainly India.

Keep in mind...this landing page will be the destination AFTER attorney's receive my direct mail piece. I will be offering a free e-book as a way to capture leads for future sales. Any related advice is appreciated in advance!!!

P.S. - I am STRONGLY considering a double-opt-in box strategy. Is this the way to go? I want quality leads. Methinks the extra step of confirming the email should knock down on the "browsers" and email fakes. What do you think?

    1. I have mixed experience with website designers in India. Many have the skills and design sense, and their templates are sometimes a good starting point. But they really do have a different culture, and they use the English language differently than we do, so often you'll need several iterations before they get what you want.

I have finally decided it's not fair for me to spend so much of MY time saving a client a few dollars on the design cost, and I have a few reasonably priced designers I use in the United States (my location) who are quite good.

    2. The best landing pages are very simple ... simple graphics, not much copy, just 2 or 3 segmenting options. So you need someone who "gets it" and doesn't over-design your landing page. That doesn't mean it should look amateurish, but a modified template isn't so terrible, especially if it's been effective for others.

    3. There are a few experienced marketing types here on the MarketingProfs Know-How Exchange who also do design work. If you check the profiles of several leading experts, you may find someone you think would be right for you.

You can also post a project in the "Hire an Expert" section of this website by clicking on "Post a Project" in the column at the right side of this page. You'll get a number of interested responses.

Or you can look at Ion Interactive (www.ioninteractive.com). They are true pioneers in post-click marketing and do a great job on landing pages; and their real focus is on quantifying conversions and maximizing the effectiveness of your post-click marketing. (If you need an introduction to someone there, let me know.)
