Mba Thesis Help For Environmental Focus

I have recently started researching topics for an MBA thesis. I am passionate about the environment, and would like to focus my thesis around sustainability, the non profit sector, environmental issues etc. My main problem thus far has been finding an environmental topic that is closely linked with business management.
My first topic was: How reform and sustainable practices must replace China’s current environmental policies. This topic was turned down because it wasn't local enough (my school is in CT).
My second topic was centered around big business's (gas companies) use of hydro-fracking (a controversial way to to access natural gas deposits below the earth's surface) and the subsequent abuse of the environment and farmers the land is leased from.

Does anyone have any ideas of an interesting topic which is not only environmentally focused, but is also closely related to the field of business management? I would also need to be able to gather a great deal of primary research on the topic which poses additional problems.

    You need to get very specific. Pick a small niche that interests you and/or relates to something you want to do as part of your career plans.

    It might be something like: "Marketing of Natural Thermal Insulation in Single-Family Residences in the United States."

    If you stay broad, you'll be chasing too many alternatives for each sub-topic you consider. Better to master a very narrow and focused topic.

    Thanks for all of your feedback, have decided to go with the lack of MBA programs incorporating sustainability/environmental issues into their programs. I like the idea of solar energy, it is just too vast for research.
