What Is Seo And How Does It Work?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
As part of my course I am writing an report on how to opitimise a website and how SEO can help rank a website which drives visitors to the website.

Having searched the internet and the forum on SEO I am still left wondering how people use keywords to get their websites ranked highly and how they come about getting the right keywords. Any help or articles would be of great use.

Thanks

    Also, some basic books:

    Dear Jason,

    Try theses sources:

    https://www.optimizewebsite.net/3_How_to_optimize_your_website_for_good_pla...

    https://www.rocketface.com/maintain_website/optimize_website.html

    https://www.seochat.com/

As for ways to pick keywords? Don't overdo it. Set up particular pages for one or two keywords or keyword phrases PER PAGE.
No more than this and no "Black hat" stuff either (white text on a white background).

I hope this helps. Good luck.

You could watch tutorials on youtube, and read some more on the internet. SEO is discussed in just about every corner of the internet world.

    SEO is complete snake oil.

When you first get into Internet Marketing, the lure of cheap or even free clicks by having a top SEO position sounds ever so appealing.

However, if you don't have a solid sales funnel and conversion process, where your site is positioned is completely irrelevant.

You can spend the next 5 years trying to please the Google-Bots by blogging, tweeting and all of the other diversions that conspire to sabotage you.

Your time is worth money. Spend it on SEO and it'll likely be worth $5 an hour if you're lucky.

Or...you can do the $50/ 500/ 5,000 an hour work and improve your conversion process by small increments every day.

If your sales funnel converts, you can sit right on top of the page with Google Adwords. Just figure out how to make 10 dollars for every 9 that you spend, then scale it out and optimize it.

SEO is for the timid, weak-minded procrastinators who don't really don't want to sell anything. They just want to look cool.

However, articles like this are great for the snake oil salesmen out there who will gladly take your money in exchange for a fleeting top position. As soon as you stop paying, you fall back into the abyss.

Focus on converting prospects. That's where the money is...

    I agree with MarketingNija,

"Or...you can do the $50/ 500/ 5,000 an hour work and improve your conversion process by small increments every day. "
