Is there a better way to initiate comments on your blog as opposed to simply asking for them at the end of the post?

    Dear Primalchat,

    Ask engaging questions in the body of your posts. Ask people what they think about specific tasks, chores, or things.

    Give people SOLID REASONS to comment. Your content must be significant enough to grip the reader's attention and to make them respond right there and then.

    Reciprocate with other bloggers. Post comments on their blogs. Contact them via email and ask for their comments on your blog (pick a specific article that you think would be of interest to them).

    Jay's right. You have to give in order to get.

    To paraphrase JFK, "Ask not what you have to do to get comments on your blog, but what your comments [on others' blogs] will do for them (and ultimately for you)."
