I Have Marketing Stategies, Need Legal Advice.

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
i have found an opportunity to advertise/market small sme there products and services to one another.i believe the concept is called partnering.but the idea i have is that each client instead of paying each other for the advertising costs/marketing - they pay me a monthly fee or percentage of profits - for the marketing strategyie for getting parties together and application of idea.my problem is they can go round my back and do it themselves.i need legal advice - i need to generate more income for now - as a student and as a self-employed person.my idea is simple and practical - i did approach first clt - they were keen.

what if i approach business (a) tell them a marketing concept - they turn around, and say that they have thought about it already - but chose not to implement it.but 2 weeks later - they do implement -can a legal doc be drawn up before concept is shared.i mean why should they only benefit if i generated income for them.

Much depends on what country you are in, and how they handle intellectual property. Because that is what your idea is.

The idea could possibly be protected under a patent (if your country allows protection of ideas in patents). But this is likely expensive.

I would likely just try to choose who I tell this to very carefully. And choose carefully what information you give out (like avoid giving out names of the other partners, if possible).
