Bcg Matrix In The Actual Context

Hello everybody! I am doing my dissertation for my bachelor with the topic "Portfolio Analysis" for a division of Renault' s called Dacia. One of the things I need to do is a BCG matrix. However, in the actual context the market growth rate in the automotive sector for some car segments is negative. How can I build a matrix that is still relevant? Should I renounce using the BCG and focus only on the GE matrix as it is more complex and it analysis several other issues?

    Thank you for your answer. I did some research on Google and Emerald and it was a bit helpful in the sense I found a way to adjust the BCG matrix. However I think I will put more emphasis on the other matrices from shell, space, hofer as they already include the bcg factors and are a bit more complex in the sense they offer a better picture of the market and company.
