Haven't been around much these last few weeks. Have been doing house renovations, dodging hurricanes and trying to get my Business and Marketing Plans into shape.
I'll try be brief without cutting things to short.
I'm looking into starting a business selling Cobra replica sports cars. The chassis, body etc comes from Backdraft Racing [inactive link removed] with the engine coming from any 1 of many different suppliers. I'll be working with the Texas dealer Victory Classic Motors [inactive link removed]
I'm drawing a bit of a blank on settling on a name, and I'm looking for some ideas. The ideas I've had are below; and I've tried to briefly explain where the idea came from.
Here is what I have so far .... in no order.
Draft Racing : shortened from Backdraft, and drafting is a term used in racing. You're drafting when you're doing 170mph 2' behind the car in front.
Shear Racing : I'm a civil engineer by training and shear is a term I use. It's also a play on the meaning of the word. This is nothing but a shear racecar. Which it isn't really - you can commute in it just fine :)
Winehead Racing : Saw this written as a joke on the back of a race trailer (actually the Texas dealers). It's different, catchy but has a negative aspect.
Ion Racing : a small particle (these cars are small) that moves very quickly. Has some good ideas to go with a logo. Short name, easy to say and catchy.
Co-ax Racing : these cars handle very well, or change direction in two axis very well. Co-ax implies this to me, but probably no-one else :) Again short and catchy, but doesn't relate to the car that much
Energy Racing : hmm what was I thinking. High energy, dramatic, fast paced. Is it a car or a power company ?
Green Flag Racing : go go go. Competition, winning. People think of racing, speed and action. Tx dealer has a chequered flag on his website, I thought green flag.
Pyro Racing : catchy. On fire dramatic etc explosive and memorable. Loud etc (just like the cars). Good ideas for a logo.
Front Row Racing : leading, in front, center of attention, better than the rest.
Matrix Racing : people notice the name as it's been advertised as part of some movies. There are different angles to these cars just like a maths matrix. Catchy
Jaywalk Racing : thought of this watching Leno. Walking and racing are so opposite you'd remember seeing then together. I think.
Phase Racing : phase out the competition. maybe not.
X-Ray racing : goes right through you, like you could with the competition. X-rays let you see what is hidden, like people WILL see you when you drive this car on the road.
Tek Racing : replica of a mid-60's race car with modern technology in it. Also a short version of my Engineering Consultancy business name I'm trying to start as well.
Fast Cars : exactly what they are.
Muscle Motors : under the gas pedal you have anything from 350HP in a 2300# car .....
Wrench Racing : catchy and easy to say. Most owners so far in the market have had to build their own cars from kits. I'll be selling complete, or almost so, cars for those who can't build their own.
Gearhead Racing : gearhead is a slang term for anyone interested in cars, motorcycles etc. May have a 'slack' connotation with the name
Racing Classics : it's out of the 60's, it's a classic car and it was built for racing.
"I'll try be brief" well that didn't work. Sorry folks.
Any ideas on the above or other names. ? I'm not really sold on any of them, just with dodging hurricanes etc I haven't really been in a frame of mind to think of a name that ties everything together and gets the car itself into peoples attention.
Sorry no free car to anyone who has the winner - just 100 points ;)
Thanks everyone
