Recommendations For Web Hosting Service

Posted by telemoxie on 1000 Points
For one of the projects I'm working on, I need to register a couple domain names, set up email, and set up a fairly simple yet professional looking web page (unlike my own) with links to info on my clients. Sorry, I know there are many excellent designers and consultants out there, but I do not have the funds for that...

... can anyone reccomend a good yet inexpensive ISP with fairly straightforward yet professional templates, etc., which I could implement on my own? I have worked in the computer field for over 20 years, and so I have broad, general computer knowledge, but I am not a programmer by any stretch of the imagination.

    Dave,

You have to check out Go Daddy at www.godaddy.com

Examples: Domain name registeration is $8.95 (I think through today, then it goes up a dollar).

Webhosting is $3.95 a month, up to 50 MB.

Economy email is $9.95 a year.

Website templates run from 1 page for $14.95 a year to Website Tonight (5 page, $4.95/month) to Website Complete ($14.95 plus licensing).

You'll see all this on the site.

Go Daddy is a good company. Based in Scottsdale, AZ, I highly recommend them, you can't beat what you get for the money, great customer service, and they are very reputable.

    I hope that helps

You may want to check out www.Registerfly.com

    Cheap domains.

As for hosting, have you checked out https://www.findmyhost.com

You set up your parameters, and the pricing you want to pay, and it searches its directories, then gives you a list that meat your needs.

Careful about cheap. Cheap usually means a 14 year old kid, doing virtual hosting, with a paypal account, could be your ISP. They tend to rise and fall like the tides. But, cheap is cheap too, and I can't fault you for wanting to get a project done with minimal expense.

There are some awesome content management systems out there that have great templates included. The one I'm using has over 350 different templates available for free. If you e-mail me, I'll give you a link to a webhosting guy who will GIVE you a free website, with the content management system installed, all ready to go. (No, its not me doing this). Then, I'll give you a link to the place where you can download all 350 templates. Your website could have 350 different looks.

Not bad for free. Oh yes, you buy the domain name...

www.newbiesite.com also offers incredible sounding packages including domain name reg and hosting for $24.95 p.a.

One caution - price and service are beneficially interrelated. Sometimes too cheap = bad service (but not always).

Also, some of these places have bandwidth limits. Exceeding them may result in the website going unavailable , or in extra bandwidth charges.

Make sure you read the small print!

    Hope this helps!

    Telemoxie,

You are talking of an affordable web design templates and hosting services. I believe latter you will be talking about how to write great content, how to rank well on search engines.

I agree with you that this can be too expensive sometimes for no good reason. I went throught a searching spree until I landed on an integrated system that would allow you do all intenet marketing processes without being an expert or requiring one.

Visit https://buildit.sitesell.com/online-profits.html and get a feel of what I am talking about.
