Heres my dilemma: Starting a gift/craft store in an old train station. It was built in 1903 and has been unoccupied for the last 20 years. There is A LOT of community interest in the building being used and its at a main intersection in the older part of our town. Key points: the area has always been called "The Junction" by the old timers b/c there are several roads "meeting" there. In the early stages of the town it was the area known as "Rosemary" before the current town grew to incorporate it in. Its been incorporated in for atleast the last 50 years so this is not a widely known fact with the newer generations. It was a passenger station when in use. Its at the beginning point of our "uptown" area which people are trying to revitalize and preserve. We will be selling fabric,sewing/craft painting materials as well as handmade goods, floral arrangements, candles and hopefully holding some classes there in the future to promote people of this generation to protect and preserve more than to discard and rebuy. Most of the older train stations have a victorian "vibe" in the design that we want to build upon that with the architecture not necessarily the goods sold. I sure hope all this makes sense. I can answer any questions anyone has and can provide a link to a photo of the blding if that would help.
