Marketing for non-profits can have different goals:
1) it is often aimed at marketing to donors with the goal of getting funds for the organizations
2) less often, marketing is used to promote the services of the non-profit to the end recipients of its services

There have been a variety of questions related to non-profits before on this board. I suggest you look through prior questions by using the Search Question link (found in the menu bar on the right side of the screen) and enter in the term "non-profit".

The National Council of Nonprofit Associations website may offer assistance: https://www.ncna.org/ and they have a bunch of free publications under the Resources heading...

Why not contact a few NFPs in your area and ask them what their major marketing problems are?

You could address solutions to those problems in the thesis, and they, or one of their major patrons or benefactors, might even sponsor you to complete it!
