    Dear kathir.kadampaseelan,

How can you state that "marketing is a business philosophy,
    a skill and a function"?

How does one normally state an opinion? Normally, by saying something along the lines of that "Marketing is an effective business philosophy because ..." And so on.

Split your report into three parts. In the first part you state why marketing is important as a business philosophy; in the second part you repeat the process for business skill, and in the third
part, you do the same thing again for business function.

    I hope this helps.

Marketing is much more than a philosophy or even a function - it is a skill that separates a successful business from an unsuccessful one. Marketing determines the amount of customers a company has and the amount of customers a company has utimately determines its financial success.

You need money to count before you can hire a Controller. You need customers before you can hire employees. You may have a product / service but how does anyone find out about it? Through marketing communications. How do you improve it? Through marketing research. How do CEOs get golden parachutes. On the leg work of marketing departments which brings in dollars. How do schools sell seats in their undergraduate programs? Through marketing.
