Couses Related To Marketing

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hi,
I am Kunaal here and have been very interested in the subject of marketing since I've started studying about it.I'm at present, completing my graduation in Business Management and have taken up marketing(obviously) as my specialization criteria in India. But, my query is that although I've decided to start working by offering my services after my graduation,I want to know the various courses that I can do to enhance My skill as a Marketing student other than MBA or M.Sc in Marketing and of course the experience I would be gaining.
As My final year is at its end stage I kindly request you to guide me "What to Do?"As soon as possible....

Start by volunteering in the real world. Learn what the real-world best practices are. Find out more about what you like to do and who you like to work with. Employers are looking more for experience than simply classwork.

Heart felt thank you Mr. Jay Hamilton-Roth for taking your precious time out in answering my question. But,with due respect to your answer can you suggest me few short time courses (relating to marketing) that can get me a job as a fresher at the earliest, (by providing an added advantage compared to others) for which I'll be always thankful. And then I promise to follow what you have said in your previous comment (i.e. experience from the real world).

    Dear Kunaal,

First of all, great answer from Jay: follow his advice.

Secondly, rather than doing short courses, buy the top ten best selling books on marketing on Amazon.com and read each of them, front to back, at least twice, then read them again, only this time, take notes.

The other thing you could do to help yourself learn about marketing is to pick one of the top 25 contributors to this forum and read every answer they've given to every question over the course of the last year. Then pick another and do the same thing. And another, and so on and do this for every contributor in the top 25. I suggest you begin with W.M.M.A., Carl Crawford, wnelson mgoodman, Phil Grisolia, and Jay Hamilton-Roth.

And finally, if you reply to this, please don't call me Mr, or "sir" for that matter. I hope this helps. Good luck to you.
