    What marketing class is it (basic marketing, or something specific)? What level are the students (high school, grad, undergrad, adult ed)?

    You could look at what you will be covering throughout the course, and then find some sort of project that involves these areas.

    Do a section on social media marketing. Create a campaign on Facebook, perhaps for a fundraiser for a local non-profit. Afterwards get the students thoughts on the whole process and see what they think could be the next technological step in marketing.
