What's The Difference Between Slogan And Tagline?

    Slogans and taglines are by definition the same thing, however I think you'll find industry people consider a tagline a contemporary marketing tool to complement a business' name.

    Dear Smartgirl,

    I'll counter the above viewpoints by saying that a tag line usually accompanies a company name or logo, such as "TOYOTA: Moving Forward", or "McDonalds: I'm Loving It"

    Meanwhile, a slogan, although it's created to be memorable, is generally created to be temporary because it's often tied to a specific ad campaign. So strictly speaking, although they are similar, the two things are not the same thing.

    Essentially the same intent, but can be differentiated as:

    A slogan is a catch phrase or catch word
    Milller Lite: Taste great. Less filling.

    A tagline is a descriptive addendum to a name (company or product) a la
    Journeys (AAA magazine): Taking You Where You Want to Go

    A slogan is what you get when you post homework quesstions.

    A tagline is what you develop by thinking thru the process on your own.

    I thing Slogan and Tagline has very small difference,

    A Tagline always write according to the Companies Name / Brand Name. It should be in same context of Company Field. Its always for longer period.

    But Slogen can be relate to the Companies Name / Brand Name. for Smaller period. limited to the Show / Program. offer.
