Best Place For Sem/seo Education

I am extremely interested in learning a lot more about SEM/SEO and general internet marketing. I have done enough research that I am seriously considering making a career of it. However, seeing as it is relatively new and ever-changing area, I have not been able to find where or how I would get a legitimate education. In my experience, self-taught anything is not highly regarded.

Can someone point me in a direction of a college to look at, classes/courses to take, a program to enroll in, or tell me about your own personal experience?

I do have a BA in Communication and limited experience as a Marketing Assistant but am unable to gain internet marketing experience at my company at this time…in fact that would be years away so I am looking to get education/experience asap!

    The best source I've found is Inbound Marketing University (www.inboundmarketing.com). They actually have a certification exam that you can take after you've gone through all 16 webinars and downloaded (and used) their study kit. They offer all of it for FREE to anyone who wants to take the course - all the content is supported and donated by their partners, and the program is organized and managed by HubSpot.
