Name Ideas And Advice For New Sword Retailer

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hey there everyone, I found this site as I was looking for places to get some advice for naming a company and from what i've seen i've been impressed with the responses people have been getting here.

Anyways the idea behind the company is pretty simple, selling swords, knives, axes, etc etc both online and at trade shows. with a healthy dose of theatrics layered on top (need to put that acting degree to use somehow haha)

anyways i've been having a bit of trouble coming up with a good name for the company, best one i've had so far is "slash 'n smash weapons" which has recieved some positive reactions from friends that i've talked too but I would like to get a more balanced opinion. and of course any other suggestions you may have are greatly appreciated.

    Dear cyaakov,

Although "Slash 'n Smash Weapons" might appeal to
you, I'll lay good money on it NOT being at the top of
the list of searched for terms when it comes to the
things your customers are looking for.

This link https://bit.ly/SearchTerms should take you to the Google Keyword Search Tool. Type in one or two of your most popular keywords (if swords sell better, start with swords, then move to knives and axes).

If I'm in the market for a Roman cavalry sword, I'll be searching for a spatha. True, as a company name, that might be too specific for you, but if the bulk of your sales are Roman edged weapons, consider calling your business Roman Edged Weapons.

Similarly, if your main sales are in another historical area, consider using that specific term as a search and name choice.

At the moment, www.authenticswordsandknives.com is available as a domain. The basic answer to your question is to tell people what you're selling. There's no need to be clever or catchy. Just make the connection between the desire and the supply. I hope this helps.

What is the target segment your business is aiming for? i.e. who do you want to attract as customers?

Are these weapons theatrical pieces, historical items, or urban warfare weaponry?

    Cutting Edge
    Sharp as Knives
    Slice and Dice
    Swell Swords
    Swallower's Swords
    Cut and Died
    Fresh Cut

You could add "weapons" or whatever descriptive words you wanted to the end of these names. Slash and Smash doesn't sound as theatric as it sounds like you're leaning.
