How To Cancel A Teaser Campaign?

My marketing team was asked to launch a new product and develop a teaser campaign
After two weeks of rolling the campaign out, the product was canceled and won't go to any market
My question is: We already created expectation and mystery around this "new product" so how could I cancel this teaser campaign without creating dissatisfaction and avoid letting our customers go?

    Did you identify the company in the teaser campaign? What did you promise in the teaser campaign? Do you have some alternative offer that might fit the teaser campaign that you can use as a payoff to the teaser copy?
