Job Title For Marketing Role

Posted by nicklea on 50 Points
As with all small companies that are running on limited resources, I've managed to build an arsenal of skills that span from graphic design to marketing.

I report to the VP of Marketing. In a very small nutshell, here's what I do:

- Designed company branding (logo, apparel, signage, promotional products)
- Redesigned company website improving bounce rate and quarterly conversions
- Collateral design (flyers, brochures, business cards, direct mailers)
- Analyze target audience to develop buyer personas
- Planned, created and now manages content strategy
- Developed SEM program including keyword research, writing and designing landing pages, banner ads and ad campaigns
- Manages SEO program
- Analyzes, tracks and reports SEM/SEO results
- Developed lead nurturing campaigns including writing and designing of all email marketing communication
- Edits or writes the majority of messaging
- Assisted in aligning sales process with leads
- Continuously strategize and plan for inbound/outbound marketing efforts

My current title in no way reflects the majority of the responsibilities that I've listed above and I'd like to present one that does. Basically, I am the Online Marketing Manager, Traffic Coordinator, Marketing Communications Manager, Creative Director and the list is exhausting. I hate titles. If I could, I would go with "The Octopus".

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Based on what you listed, I would also go with Marketing Communications Manager.

It could be a Marketing Manager if you had more roles and responsibilities away from creating the deliverables (web site, collateral, etc.) and were very involved with the higher level decision of what deliverables to be doing.

I have been using that title when appropriate.

And yes, I am very involved in the planning and strategizing of our marketing efforts which is why I was also thinking Marketing Manager. I know that without resources below me it's difficult to get into that role because technically I'm not "managing" anyone. However, I'm the only one with the experience and knowledge to make sure that our goals, especially online, are executed correctly.

Thanks for your responses. You helped me validate what I was already leaning towards.
