Validating A Need For Intelligent Auto Responders

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Dear Profs,

Our start up is validating an idea of a prototype which allows you to nag your customers based on their behavior –

Examples

· Someone adds a service to their cart – did they abandon?
· Someone does not login for 3 months - what's wrong?
· Paid customer is not using it as intended – perhaps he did not put your code on his site – he will churn – save him.

Send them emails and track their open/click rates – if they have not opened – send another email (with different subject) after 3 days of wait time.

Our drag and drop designer allows you to add few lines of analytic code and define rules for each case.

I am trying to get beta customers (no charge for full one year) who can help us evolve this idea.

But does this idea appeal to you? Your opinion will help us a lot.

Thanks

Either I don't fully understand the big-idea benefit, or it's not important to me, or I'm not in your target audience ... and I'm not sure which.

Most likely I'm not in your target audience, in which case I'm not the right person to ask. So maybe you can tell us who IS in the target audience, and we can help you come up with a way to ask your question of the people who might want/need what you're offering.

This sounds like a concept development project in which you express the benefit and describe the offering in a variety of ways; share the concept statements with a representative sample of the target audience; and see if there are enough positive responses (to one or more of the concept statements) to encourage you to proceed with product development.

Suggestion: Give this the "So what?" test. For each feature, ask yourself "So what?" Then based on the answer, ask yourself "So what?" Then do it again and again. When you get to a real benefit -- not another feature or example or product description -- push yourself to an end-benefit.

Then ask yourself who would want that end-benefit.

When doing online marketing and eCommerce - automation is a great help, especially if it can be customized. So like the idea.
Yet not sure what you're asking for. Not in your beta-tester target group, sorry.

"Our start up is validating an idea of a prototype which allows you to nag your customers based on their behavior."

Repeat after me: "Thou shalt not NAG thy customers".

By all means communicate with them; for sure, keep them informed; yes indeedy, let them know about things that will help them.

    But NAGGING them?

No, no, no, no, a thousand times NO!
