Mba Dessertation Topic In Marketing

HI,i am doing my MBA, and i need to start my Dissertation in marketing, but i have no clue on topic.I work with IT distribution company we sell IBM server to resellers or dealers.I am facing tough competition selling IBM in the market since HP enjoys more then 50% market share,so suggest me something on this lines, which can be helpful to my company to boost IBM sales.Let me know at earliest.what can be my dissertation topic.

    The more you focus the thesis, the better a job you will do on it. It is easier to become the world''s leading expert on "one armed Eskimo violin players in Hawaii" than it is on Eskimos, violins, or Hawaii.

    The theory you get from school. Now you need the real reasons. You get those by interviewing the people involved in the purchasing decision. Why did you buy, really? A major influence will often be a personal relationship. Sales seminars always emphasize that in a positive way. However sometimes a negative relationship was the real reason. (Salesman A was arrogant. Therefore we went with salesman B from company B.)

    You do an empirical study with a questioinnaire. Professors love theory building empirical research. And those information interviews you conduct will provide you useful real world ideas about what drives the sale.

    This question gets asked a lot. The problem is that you need to pick something YOU are interested in. If you don't you give up when the going is dry....and it will get that way.

    thank you so much, for the your input & guidance.Now i do have clarity on my thesis..so i need to do Quantitative & qualitative research..and for multiple regression analysis what software do you suggest which is really good?
