There really isn't a lot of difference between marketing a product and a service. It is really all about the four P's Place, Product, Promotion, and Price.

Obviously place is where your located and it will not change regardless of product or service. Product and service are interchangeable for this discussion. Promotion will change slightly if you are promoting a product you will be talking about the virtues or benefits of that product. If you are promoting a service you will talking about the benefits of your service. Price, as with all products and services you must be in the ball park. If you are promoting the worlds greatest widget at twice the cost of your nearest competitor you better have a pretty good selling story explaining why your product is worth more. And if you have have service that costs more than competitors you have to be able to tell the customer why.

So without any specifics on what product or service, it is difficult to be more definitive.

    I hope this helps,
