Generally speaking, my observation is that websites can play an important role in various aspects of lead generation. However, I would never have described them as having a lead generation process including nurturing and scoring.

The type of site which comes to mind would be something like eBay or Amazon.com which creates a nurturing relationship with the user and also walks potential buyers through a definite sales process. In the case of eBay, the ability of a bidder to list their maximum total bid could be described as lead scoring.

In a similar way, many news sites attempt to draw you in with free content, and attempt to develop a subscription relationship over time.

I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but if this was my project, I would look at the top 100 e-commerce sites in attempt to identify best practices.
