You've been asked to write a "very comprehensive marketing and event report" and are asking for ideas and templates strongly infers that you may have been asked for a product that is outside your experience level.

I assume a new bagel shop branch will already have enough red ink at start-up. You have little / no leaway for a marketing plan and event that isn't spot on effective. The shop may be better served in the long run to pay for a professional marketeer.

If you choose to go it alone, then try reworking other marketing plans the bagel shop has used in the past and extract what worked and what didn't.

You local chamber of Commerce my add some local "factors for success" and provide demographics.

The "event" is a differnt task and more closely tied to your budget. The typical advertising (for all branches) in local media and freebies helps drive some new traffic. The local newspaper business reporter could write an article. By "event" are you looking to have like Paris Hilton show up, or a monster truck drive over a huge bagel?
