Need A Name For Couples Therapy Clinic

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I need help coming up with a name for a therapy clinic. I'm a marriage and family therapist, we'd specialize in couples counseling, sex therapy, and drug addictions. I really like the name Creative Therapy Solutions, but some other company also apparently liked that name so it's a no go. I like the idea of having Solutions in the name. Ideas?

When you say that "Creative Therapy Solutions" already has liked that name - do you mean that another clinic in your area has filed a FBN statement (FBNA), or they have a federal trademark, or simply the URL is taken?

While you might like "Creative Therapy Solutions" - the only word in the name that's immediately understood by prospective clients is "Therapy". Also, because you're hoping to attract very different patients based on your offerings (couples vs. addicts) means you're likely to pick a vague/generic name.

Why not start your clinic (since it's just you, right?) with:

    Jane Smith
    Marriage and Family Therapist

Once your business grows, the part of your business that's "hot" can direct you to a strong name.

The name Creative Therapy Solutions is the name of another company within my state so I am unable to use it.

The reason I wanted a clinic name was because it''s actually a group of marriage and family therapists. We''re all trained to work with individuals, couples, and families but we each have a specialty area such as addiction recovery or sex therapy, which is why it''s been so difficult deciding upon a name. Thanks for helping me clarify. Any other suggestions?

Thank you for your responses. I''ve had some feedback that using the term "Creative" might limit my clientele in that clients may not want creative therapy they want normal therapy. Thoughts on that?

I really like the idea of starting the company with an A B or C so as to be at the top of the phone book so the Bright Future and Creative Counseling are great for that. My concern with Bright Future Solutions is that people may not know what we do right off the bat. Would you suggest a tagline?

Where are you located? I think some reference to your location (in the name) is probably appropriate.

I also think "creative" doesn't fit and "solutions" is trite/overused.

Your best bet might be to not be so creative in the name and simply say what you do and where. Then use a tagline to identify specialty areas. Professional practices tend to sound flaky when they try to come up with "creative" names.
