Randall's right: congrats on having the balls to step up and ask the question, and on asking it here, and for asking it now. There are a lot of SMART, SMART minds contributing to this forum. Read. Listen. Have an opinion. Offer a contribution based on an original point of view. And learn.

As for "how we, as professionals, can work to improve its efficiency and accuracy". That's easy: cut the BS. Let's NOT have students speaking MBA speak (meaning, let's not have dynamic paradigms that reinforce the market zeitgeist) and other, similar BS. No one talks that way.

As for "keeping in mind new technologies and other forces crucial to the industry". Hmm. Psst. C'me here! Listen ... forget the technology—it's simply a vehicle: a wheeled device to move cargo, messages, and ideas from A to B. It's the passengers—the PEOPLE—that matter. And despite time, change, and technology, the needs, problems, and pain points of those passengers DO NOT CHANGE. (Read that again).

I'm happy to chat as well: here, or off forum. But know this: if you're simply looking for someone to do your homework for you, boy, are you making a mistake and are you in the wrong place!

    Randall & Gary:

Thank you for your insight. I must confess that I am a novice in the marketing field and am looking for some guidance. MarketingProfs seems to be a great resource and networking tool for emerging professionals. You are absolutely right; I should have done some more digging around on the sight before diving into the forums. I realize that my question appears underdeveloped.

Regardless, I am in the middle of researching the topic and will return once I find some grounding and a point of view.

    Thanks again!

    Jennifer
