Potential Career Change

I currently work for a top 500 company in operations. I graduated college in '09 with my marketing degree and have had no luck in landing a marketing job. I have an opportunity to join the sales department at my current job.

Would a sales position get me closer to what I really want or should I be patient and continue to search for a entry level marketing job?

    Sales is not normally a stepping off point for marketing, but then again, neither is operations. Can't say which would be better.

    Have you talked with you manager and or HR department for guidance? Can you create a path to your dream job at your current employer?
