Business Development Specialist

What are exactly the activities that any Business Development Specialist should do? And what's the relation between him and the marketing department?

    Business Development Specialist is a somewhat generic term, so could mean many things depending on the company. But in general, it is a form of a sales person.

    Business development often is used to refer to someone who makes deals with other companies, such as licensing agreements, mergers, etc. But it could also mean someone who is working in sales in general.

    Thank you for your answer. But what I've got from searching on the Internet that he responsible for the marketing activities a long with making deals and agreements. It's a sophisticated job that contains more than one roles marketing, PR, and sales.

    Am I right in what I've said above?
