Agency Rates

I'm currently doing all the content marketing for my company. I am getting more and more requests from our "clients" to do free lance work on the side.

Thinking about a possible agency, what are the going rates? I was thinking about monthly terms with different levels of service. Right now I am producing videos, podcasts, blog updates and regular social media updates and interaction.

Ideas? Answers?

    Rates: Whatever the market will bear. Not sure there is a standard rate card for something as broad as "content marketing."

    You may need to price your services on a project basis for each prospective client. Understand their needs and expectations, determine what you'd have to do to satisfy them, then estimate the value to them. If that value is greater than what you'd want to do the job, then there's a good chance you can get the assignment. Otherwise, it's probably better that you not even try. Just move on to the next one.

    Thanks for information mgoodman... Are there any companies out there paying for content? And if so is per project or on a monthly basis?

    Companies do pay for content and the rates and pricing models vary. We have clients that contract with us for specific projects (i.e. eBook, lead gen, website content, etc.) and those are flat fee arrangements. We have others that outsource their entire content marketing functions to us. Those are typically monthly retainer agreements.

    Working out the pricing will come down to the intersection between your ability to deliver what they need and their ability to pay you what you want. It's always a compromise.
