Delegating Tasks To A Marketing Coordinator

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
Hi. My marketing team has finally grown to include a brand new Marketing Coordinator as well as a Public Relations Coordinator. Up until this point I have been handling all the relationships (media, community, vendors and partners). In my new role as Marketing Director would it be appropriate for me to now pass those relationships on to the new staff and how can I maintain rapport with them?

Any advice would be great!

There isn't a set path to this. Appropriate is what works for you, your company, and the coordinator. Both you and the coordinator have certain needs, desires, and skills, and finding the right balance that is also right or the business is your challenge.

I would start with the "coordinator" picking up some of the more administrative side (the time consuming, but low value) of what the business needs, and slowly grow from there through handling relations with lower value contacts and working their way up to perhaps taking on them all (if that is what you want).
