IMHO Dell remains number one on efficiency manufacturer PC ladder segment. The question is does this segment, as defined, mean as much today, and if not, what segment name will be better - better value (not lowest cost).

    hope this helps

The segment (or niche) that is named "efficiency" pc manufacturer still belongs to Dell. Dell created this segment and still owns the top position in this segment. However, the meaningfulness of Dell's ownership may or may not be very significant to the customer in 2012.

So the question for you, your research assignment, is to determine what are the significant pc segment names in today's marketplace, and how should Dell position or reposition itself to be more competitive.

I could do this research, but I would want to be paid.

Hope this helps, and best of luck.
