Where To Find Shooters?

Posted by alex111alex111 on 125 Points
I'm looking for marketing assistance/expertise/advice on how/where to find people who would like a gig or side job, just for some extra cash. I tried to post on CraigsList but apparently got 'ghosted' in los angeles > gigs > creative gigs - for this type of ad:

"Looking for someone to capture images of business sections near their neighborhood (by smartphone/cellphone/iPad preferred).
The images can easily be emailed. Pay is $5 per ten images. If interested please reply with any questions and the general location(s) where you can capture some of these shots. No editing required. No experience neccessary. Great (and easy) for students or amateurs interested in earning some extra money."

I'm not interested in discussing the gig, just interested in discussing where would be a good venue(s) to get visibility for it and find candidates for this gig. Also, how to not get ghosted at CL. It seems most other classified venues aren't even close to being as busy as CL. Am I right? Is their a site that's not free like CL, that you'd suggest? I'd be glad reasobably pay for great/unique advice that you don't want to post on a forum.

Your job ad sounds super scammy, "No experience neccessary. Great and easy for students and amateurs interested in earning some extra money" why not say Stay-at-home-moms can earn $5,000 a day!

Just kidding...talk about why you need this help, what kind of photos you're looking for. What kind of experience would be helpful (but not necessary).

As far as where to post the new ad, I'd suggest creating a facebook ad or doing an Indeed featured posting but you'd need a website for both. You could try to contact some amateur photo blogs to advertise there.

Thanks for the feedback. Even though I didn't really want to talk about the the ad itself, I will say that if a potential candidate has the same question "what is a business section" that may motivate them to reply to the ad for more info. Also, I understand it appears their may be copyright issue, but there won't be. Because it sounds easy it's sounds scammy? Alot of people want something easy. Shooting a picture with a cellphone is easy. I don't know how to make it sound easy and not scammy. Any suggestions? As far as a Facebook ad (or Indeed posting), it's been my experience that click-thru ads are best used for selling something on a web page/landing page. I don't think click-thru ads are a cost-effective way to start a dialogue with people about a temporary side job. I'd like to hear other opnions on click-thrus for selling product vs. other uses. Amateur photo blog may be an idea, but my first reaction is not much traffic. Thanks again I look forward to other comments.
