Event Planner Exposure

as a new event planner how can make people take me serious as a professional when I have not taken any classes

    Do a remarkable job on a few events and get people to refer you, give testimonials, and generally spread the word.

    Of course, you will want a website that communicates the right positioning and a solid marketing plan before you even begin.

    I don't think most people look for someone who has a degree or certificate in event planning (if there is even such a thing), but instead someone who has done a good, cost effective job on past events and has good ideas for their event. So I second Mgoodman's response about doing some events well and getting testimonials and provide word of mouth marketing for you.
