I presume you haven't started your company yet. Because I want to warn you that you are in for a tough time. Anybody setting up a company in this day an age will be.

You are - or will be - operating in a marketplace that is effectively sewn up by people who have one of two things: money (= branding) or a big client base. Either way, they have authority, and those with the biggest client base wins. Because branding won't get you out of trouble. It will only cost you more money.

So: you need to get clever.

Work out what you do best and the customer that fits your business best. Sure, this is tough as looking in the mirror won't tell you how others see you. So get a friend in to tell you truthfully what he (or she) sees. Send out ten emails (or more) and ask for honest opinions. Including the darker side. Take them all and there will be characteristics that are mentioned in most.

Because this will demonstrate your abilities in a way that you can't see for yourself.

With that you can at least make a start on mapping out who your best clients will be.

Because targeting them will do two magical things: it will make your advertising effective and it will establish your niche where few others can compete.

My final piece of advice is to use your own name, rather than anything "catchy" - because anybody can use a catchy name, including someone who doesn't know what they are doing. Your own name implies you are going to be around for a while and implies trust.

Who is your primary target audience for this business? Where are they locate? How do they identify and evaluate prospective suppliers? What criteria are most important to them?

What makes you different from, and better than, your competition? Why should someone in your target audience buy from you? What important and unique benefit do you offer?

If you can answer these questions we can help you with the name. As for the logo, you'll need a designer for that.
