Web Developer: What Should The Cv/resumé Look Like

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi guys,

I need some urgent help. I have been working in the IT field for 10 years and I have got extensive skills and experience in the field...

For the last 10 years, I have worked for myself...But a few months ago, I sold my business. Today, I got offered a job as the Senior Web Developer and since I have never worked for another IT company before, I am just wondering what my CV/Resume should look like?

Should I do something unique like: https://www.goslingo.com/ojg_cv.pdf

or keep to the more "traditional look", but simply include links to my projects and have an extensive list of my skills/experience?

I really appreciate your assistance on this one...

Thanks

If you already got offered the job, then the form of the CV doesn't matter.
Ideally, the CV should be tailored for the job description - with the PDF easily scan-able by traditional HR software. Something non-traditional may get you noticed by people (for the right or wrong reasons).

    Hi guys,
Thanks for the reply. Although I got offered the job by their HR team, it still needs to go through their "board". As I understand they have 2 more candidates, so I really want to be noticed - for the right reasons :-) I know it sounds a little upside-down - that's probably why I'm also a little uncertain as to exactly what they want...Thanks for your help.

Ultimately the format of your CV doesn't matter. What does matter is how you convey that you've helped your employers improve their bottom line, have initiative, and show good judgement.
