Classes For Printers/graphic Designers

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hi, I'm trying to find classes for printers/graphic designers - You know, classes that are offered for those that are in the field, so they can stay current on the new technology and things like that.

Do any of you have ideas on where I can look?

Thank you in advance.

Where are you located? In California, there are many community colleges and trade schools offering graphic design classes.

If you are a professional looking for classes emphasizing the newer technologies, you will need to look at the various suppliers of the technologies themselves.

Adobe being the most popular graphics software means looking to their site to see if they have any courses (online and off). There are also online courses that teach the finer points of Adobe's systems - and no doubt colleges and universities will have these too.

As to whether they are held in your area is another matter, and it may be that they only hold two classes a year with visiting lecturers.

I'd recommend looking into professional organizations, such as Printing Industries of America, there may not be a local chapter where you are, but there are continuing education/training opportunities https://www.printing.org/page/2876. They are also active on social media https://www.facebook.com/printingindustries?fref=ts. I do not have direct experience with this organization but saw a presentation by them. Hope this helps!
