Marketing Dissertation Ideas

Hello

I am currently a student who has taken a year out of my studies to do a placement. I will be returning to university to do my final year in September and would like my dissertation topic to be sorted before then!

I'm currently working in CRM and would like my dissertation to be on this and the company i work for. We are currently working on making our crm emails mobile optimised and i thought i could base my dissertation upon how having mobile optimised messages can improve engagement?

We are currently doing testing and i would base findings on click through rates etc? The company i work for are willing to keep in touch with me and provide info etc on whatever i end up basing my dissertation on, so i don't have to worry about having a lack of information!

it's something i find very interesting but i am just a little worried that it's not very relevant/good topic?

Thanks

If it's interesting to you and potentially useful for the company, I'd go with it. But don't blindly assume that the mobile-optimized messages will improve engagement. They might not. And maybe it's the medium (i.e., mobile) rather than the message.

If you're objective in your research, this could be a great topic.

It's Mr Goodman's "don't blindly assume" bit that made my ears prick. Your research could look at this issue: all the best research delves beyond the blind assumptions made by others. Whether you're right or not isn't the issue. It's the thinking and the execution that are important, after all if the company invested large amounts in this and then found it worthless, a study like yours would have saved them a lot of time and effort.

If of course, you find that your idea is justified, that's an entirely different story ;-)

    Hope this helps. M
