Need A Business Name

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am struggling to come up with a catchy name and tagline for a new business. Can anyone help me with this and is it ok with you to go ahead and registering if selected?
This business would be an errand service that would help individuals or families with any of the following: shopping, home visits, pick dry cleaning, delivery,
Pet walking, drop in to feed and refresh water, transport dog to groomers
Wait at home for deliveries or utility, cable service, etc.
Housecleaning
Home check ins, security check in while you are vacation (water plants inside and out, bring in mail, etc. - this would also be great for someone that goes away for the summer or winter months at a time),
Holiday gift shopping and gift wrapping
Post Office Delivery or Pick up
Library book return
Deliver items to kids while in school and parents can't leave work
Pick up prescriptions and deliver to elderly
Grocery shopping
Shopping
Sales Returns/Exchanges
Document delivery
Video pick up and delivery
Addressing and mailing invitations, Holiday Cards and Thank Yous
Flower pick up and delivery
Balloon pick up and delivery
Birthday cake pick up and delivery
Get keys cut to home, office or vehicle
Internet research
Organize and drop off items to charity
Find music entertainment for parties
Personal filing, data entry, typing, etc.

    How about "Any Errand, Anytime"?

Okay! So you can do everything - now since you're setting up can you start imagining the kind of person who'll hire you. Because seeing things from their point of view will answer so many questions that you'll have too many names.

Plus, the small print: who you are, what you do and where. Client demographics - age, gender, occupations, preferences.

Who will you serve, where, and agaisnt what kind of competition? Do you have a business plan that's more than simply a laundry list of the concierge services you'll offer? What kinds of terms are people in the area you'll be serving searching for online? Some keyphrse research on your part will do much to help refine and target potential name ideas.

I am not at all a fan of descriptive business names. The thing that matters is your brand, what you do business ask, your dba.

Suppose for example you name your company abc-123-do-rae-me inc. For a very minimal charge you can set up a DBA and test and see what works better.

I have worked with several clients who went to all the trouble of incorporating and creating business cards and webpages and letterhead because they thought they would make money doing one thing, but then discovered there was much more opportunity to do something else.

If you don't believe me, do some research on the biggest companies in their various industries. For example, run a list of the largest and most successful advertising agencies in the world. Ask yourself, do these marketing experts use descriptive or non-descriptive names?

Businesses are about making money. When you see a good opportunity, you need to go for it. You don't want to have to spend a lot of time explaining why your webpage and business cards and letterhead and marketing communications all talk about doing something different.
