Help With Naming Health Coaching Business

Posted by svetlana22m on 250 Points
Please let me know what is your favorite name for health coaching business and why. My main target market is moms with young kids, but I also have sub-target markets (gluten free living and thyroid disease). I work with busy moms who want to lose weight, improve mood, self confidence, and energy, by educating them on making healthy choices with food, exercise, and lifestyle. I plan to work with english speaking clients all over the world.

1- My Health Beet {With Svetlana}

2 - Svetlana's Health Beet

4 - Find Your Health Beet

6 - Wellness Solutions for Moms

A few explanations: my first name is Svetlana. And I use Beet (instead of Beat) for a few reasons: its a play on word beat (rhythm), it's a veggie, and its a translation of my last name in my language.
If you don't like any of the above, do you have any suggestions? Thank you so much in advance!

As a gardener I got the pun immediately ;-)

That it's a translation of your own name is even more clever - it certainly meets some of the naming challenges head on. For myself - and I'm not your target market* - I favour "Your health beet" (without the "The"). It focusses on your audience rather than yourself. Sure, you're doing all the work, only seeing it from their point of view will put things in a better order for the search engines. People ask questions - and get few answers. Why? Because the search engine is only a "best match" and most websites answer questions. It's something I beet on about a lot.

I could go on ... copywriters ... especially English ones ...

As a final tip, find out from your customers what they felt like before and after, how they found you and the sort of questions they asked that you were the solution to. That way you'll find more of them. It's far from easy to do, listening to your customers is a very good start. If you've been through this, think of how you felt, what you needed answering. That sort of thing.

    I hope this helps.

*My kids ate their greens. Not because I forced them to, in growing our own they were really tasty. They needed no encouragement to eat tasty food :-) Eating isn't just fuelling up like you do your car. It should be an intensely enjoyable part of your day.

"My Health Beet {With Svetlana}" and "Svetlana's Health Beet" are more about you, and less about your target audience. If people don't know who you are, having your name in the business name won't help.

"Find Your Health Beet" - is better, but people aren't looking for a "health beat" - they're looking to (presumably) feel better.

"Wellness Solutions for Moms" is better still, since it narrows your audience a little.

But why wouldn't you simply use:

    Svetlana YourLastName
Health Coach For Moms With Young Children -or-
    Health Coach For New Moms

Following J's line - how about "beet unhealthy attitudes" (it's something perhaps more appropriate?)

Thank you so much all for your thoughtful responses.
To respond to J's inquiry. There are a few things I want to accomplish - I want to keep the name broad enough for other target audiences and if I happen to expand to other target markets later on. Also, I want to make sure the name isn't too long (don't want a long domain name). I am thinking that my tagline will explain exactly what I do, if my business name won't.

In response to what you say about "broad enough for other target audiences" - the crucial element for your business name is then HOW you do the things you do, not what. Because whatever you do, you'll do it your way. That is the key to any real (and long lasting) customer relationship, and those are your best customers.

If you could expand on this, I for one will be able to come up with some daft ideas. Sorry, that should read "catchy names" ;-)

OK, let me try to expand, then, Moriarty :)

    What I do differently:
    - I inspire to create long lasting positive changes in people, not in a "quick fix" way, but by step by step guidance over a period of time (3 or 6 months, or even longer).
    - I am not only a health coach, I am also a licensed counselor, with background in mental health
    - I empower others to create their own answers to their questions, because we all have the answers inside of us (of course, I do provide guidance, as well)
    - I believe in bio-individuality - there isn't one diet that is perfect for everyone.

I know it's a lot... hopefully this helps. And thank you so much!

That's fantastic. What I got from it was three words: Coach, counsellor and creative.

Okay, so it's more than that - and I do like the reflexive style of mediation you use where you help people form their own questions. If you're interested, there's a lot about the subconscious on my website. You may find it illuminating. It is a path that is not well trodden. It is from a more abstract viewpoint than your hands-on services.

The Creative Beet: working with you for solid results
drawing on your strengths for answers
building your inner strength through diet
the answers lie in you, I help you find them.
helping you find the answers you need.

Of the Beeten track: helping your journey to become you again
the only perfect diet is the one you need.
a journey to bring mind and body together again

Still a little unfocussed. What do you think? What can you come up with from that lot that would help me tidy one up?

    This is great, thanks Moriarty!
To focus a bit more, I think having a word "health" or "wellness" in the name is important. Plus is helps with SEO and google searches.

    A little reworking then:

The Creative Beet: wellness is working with you
health through drawing on your strengths
health is your inner strength through diet
the answers to your wellness lie in you, I help you find them.
helping you find the wellness you seek.

Of the Beeten track: a healthy journey to become you again
the only healthy diet is the one you need.
a journey to make mind and body helathy again
your journey with me brings health to mind and body

Mix, match, chuck 'em in the air and catch 'em. Make the most you can of these!

... are they any better ...??

Sorry for miscommunication, I meant to have "health" or "wellness" in the actual name (not the tagline).

I'll have another go in the morning. Believe me, it's easy to get a comment wrong. I'm used to getting things wrong ... ;-)

    See you in the morning.

    A few ideas for a name -

    The Healthy Beet
    Wellness Is Within
Beeting health problems - using your own strengths to find a path to wellness
    Beeting illness

Any better ;-) Feel free to improve them to the needs of those you work with - and future clients like them. M xxx
